Decentralized Architecture and Security

The Spiderchain architecture builds on Bitcoin’s security model by decentralizing BTC custody across randomly selected, slashing-protected Orchestrator nodes.
Because of the decentralized nature of the Spiderchain, there’s no single point of failure that can be used to take down the entire network. Each of these multisig wallets require many signatures from different, independent Orchestrator nodes in order to send transactions. This arrangement has the effect of virtually eliminating any opportunity for bad actors to hijack the money. This type of randomized multisig custody provides an additional layer of security that helps protect user funds from attacks. Further, it includes slashing mechanisms to ensure the network’s integrity.
Furthermore, the Spiderchain’s feature of self-updating ensures that it can quickly respond to shifting network dynamics and emerging threats. When new nodes join the network, or existing nodes update their software, the Spiderchain uses an algorithm to self-regulate its configuration to provide the best security and performance.
