The WWE Universe is still buzzing after the surprise debut of the Wyatt Sicks, a disturbing new version of the Wyatt Family. Their spectral presence and shape-shifting character design has certainly turned heads. The reactions to their in-ring performances and overall storyline coherence have been incredibly polarizing. The group, perceived as "out there," has quickly established dominance by defeating several competitive teams, leaving fans wondering about the direction of their narrative.
Wyatt Sicks members (and WWE stars) Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy recently debuted in Defy taking on the Motor City Machine Guns. Lumis and Gacy defied the odds to beat the experienced tag team. Yet, as some were quick to point out, it was no more than a “bang average” cup tie.
A notable moment occurred when Dexter Lumis attempted a pinfall when it wasn't planned, adding a layer of uncertainty to the group's coordination. Later on, Lumis dropped an outstanding top rope leg drop, giving a preview of their impressive in-ring talents. Together, these moves hint at the potential for Uncle Howdy to be throwing plays from the sideline during matches and altering game plans in real-time.
Though they have received victory, the Wyatts’ behavior in their respective matches has not always come off as hoped. A lot of fans believe that the Wyatts lose their menacing stature when they’re just in normal matches. Without this perception, their terrifying character is greatly reduced.
Looking forward, speculation is already swirling as to which incumbent the Wyatt Sicks will poach from the next. Other possible challengers include Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins. The match between The Wyatts and Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins may occur at Night Of Champions or on the next SNME.
Uncle Howdy’s gang’s narrative logic goes pretty far off the rails. Their group has already “jobbed out” everyone competitive in the division. This is true of DIY and Fraxiom, which begs the question about the long-term sustainability of their booking.
