Gordian Quest is a thrilling RPG that marries the essence of DnD with strategic, turn-based roguelike combat. Getting team composition right is the most important thing to master in order to succeed at this game. One particularly well-oiled team including Lucius, Catherin, and Alphonse really shines through. The magic they bring to the table with their cooperative play makes Lucius, Catherin and Alphonse a very flexible and dangerous pairing. Each character brings something different to the table, which makes for great gameplay. They go even further, establishing non-combat roles such as healing and stat boosts. It’s this combination of perspective and practice that equips the small team to meet a wide scope of complex challenges.
Alphonse, the Scoundrel hero, shines as the party’s main damage dealer. His kit champions quick strikes, mobility dodging and card drawing. As an Assassin, Alphonse is able to quickly pick off high priority targets and turn the tide of battle.
Catherin, the Cleric, often considered the best support role healer and buffer, but highly complementary to damage dealing. Her adaptable nature means she can always come up with a plan, ensuring her usefulness in combat no matter the encounter. Catherin can not only keep your team in the fight, but she can attack opponents to help remove those threats.
Lucius is at his best when he has some support teammates who can buff or heal him. He makes a fantastic use of the Strength (STR) stat which increases his melee damage and survivability. Lucius’s high durability and potential for massive damage means he can shred both backline and front-line enemies when he is able to wade into combat.
Maximizing Character Potential
To really unlock this world of possibilities and endless encounters, it’s important for players to pay attention to each character’s unique deck and stat spread. Fine-tuning these additional features will only make the elite squad more lethal on the battlefield.
Based on Lucius, the new “Veteran” deck is an excellent starting point. This whole deck is centered around making him beefy and hard to kill, punishing those who go for heavy attacks with high damage in return. Prioritizing the STR stat will only increase these benefits, ensuring that he is a true devastating force on the battlefield.
Kudo’s role primarily is that of a debuffer who sometimes plays the role of a secondary DPS. The Tormentor deck is the perfect deck for Kudo.
